Before she became known as the artist of bright colors, she also had to undergo a state of darkness where in she almost wanted to end her own life. Fortunately, she stumbled upon a monastery somewhere in the North part of Thailand where in she learned the principles of Buddhism. It was from here that she started her self journey out of the darkness and into a better light.
The Buddhist monks taught her that meditation and leading a slow paced and simple life is the key to enlightenment. That is why for thirty days, she did nothing and just reflected upon her own life. It was through this type of meditation that she reached a higher level of understanding and therefore gained a lot of insights that would help her in her future.
After her period of meditation, she started having strange dreams about different colors and shapes of lights. These magnificent dreams of unique spectrum would be the one sole inspiration for all of her artistic work today. It was because of these dreams that she was able to snap out of her depressed state and start reeling herself back into reality again in order to showcase her art.
Following her visit to Thailand, she decided to start off her work by visiting houses in Los Angeles where in she would examine these houses and add some designs to them. One thing that she noticed with these houses were that they were not very brightly designed. This actually gave off a very gloomy feel which was not healthy for those living inside.
She was able to come up with two sets of photography art that are known as Visible Light Series and Garden Light Series. The Visible Light Series is known for its bold use of colors and brightness as well as its energy. Take note that this set is all natural lights and does not at all make use of any photo editing software that a lot of photographers do these days.
The Garden Light Series is not as popular as the first but it is also quite a big hit among people who love beautiful designs. The Garden Light Series represents the beauty of nature through the designs of the abstract art of Miss Rogers.
